Ingrid Lúcio
PhD — Individual & Couples Therapist
I was born and raised in Brazil and later moved to Amsterdam with my husband. Experiencing migration as an adult shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and emotional grounding, and informs my work with individuals and couples living abroad.
Educational Background and Work Experience
I bring 18 years of clinical experience, including my work as a federal psychologist at Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) since 2011, as well as 10 years supporting adolescents and families in the state rehabilitation system (DEGASE) and in private practice.
I hold a PhD and Master’s degree in Social Psychology, a postgraduate specialization in Couple and Family Therapy, and additional training in Psychopathology and Clinical Diagnosis and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (ICEEFT).
My clinical perspective is systemic, culturally sensitive, and emotionally attuned, with attention to the body, relationships, and the impact of migration and life transitions.
My Approach
I offer therapy in Portuguese and English for individuals and couples, with active listening and clear, strategic interventions in a structured and emotionally grounded space.
My aim is to help clients rebuild grounding, strengthen relationships, and develop a coherent, empowered sense of self—even when far from home.
Sessions are available in person in Amsterdam and online.
